Vdotra Terms and Conditions
These terms govern the use of Vdotra, the Android app from MCBIT ("we"). By installing or using the app you accept these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it.
1. The service
Vdotra is a calculator for runners: VDOT, training paces, race equivalents, VO₂max, heart-rate zones, track intervals and a personal records log. It works without an account and keeps your data on your device, as explained in the Privacy Policy.
2. Free and ad-supported
- The app is free and has no in-app purchases or subscriptions.
- It is funded by Google AdMob ads shown inside the app. We do not choose each ad and do not endorse the products or services advertised; any dealings with an advertiser are solely between you and them.
- You may only use the app as distributed. Blocking, hiding or tampering with ads by modifying the app, or generating artificial impressions or clicks, is not allowed.
3. Not medical advice
Results are estimates based on published formulas (Daniels and Gilbert VDOT, Riegel's model, Cooper Institute tables and others). They are meant to guide training, but they are not a diagnosis or medical or professional advice, and they may not fit your case. Vdotra is not a medical device. Talk to a health professional before starting or changing a training programme, and stop training if you feel pain, dizziness or any unusual symptom.
4. Permitted use
We grant you a personal, free, non-exclusive and non-transferable permission to use the app on your devices. You may not:
- use the app for unlawful purposes;
- decompile, alter or redistribute it except as allowed by its software license or by law;
- interfere with its operation or with the ads.
The app's code is published under the Apache 2.0 license, and the libraries and fonts it includes under their own licenses, which you can read in Settings › Software license. The Vdotra name, logo and icon are not licensed with the code.
5. Your data and backups
Your data is stored only on your phone. You are responsible for exporting a backup if you want to keep it: if you uninstall the app, change phones or clear its data, it is lost and we cannot recover it.
6. No warranties
The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we do not warrant that it is error-free, that calculations are accurate for your case or that it will run without interruption. We may change, suspend or withdraw features or the app at any time.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages, data loss, training injuries or decisions made based on the app's results. Nothing in these terms limits any consumer rights granted by the law of your country that cannot be excluded.
8. Third-party services
The app uses third-party services, such as Google Play for distribution and Google AdMob for ads. Their use is also governed by those third parties' terms, for example the Google Terms of Service.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will publish the new version on this page with its effective date; if the change is significant, we will let you know in the app. If you keep using the app after a change, you accept the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Chile, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence.
